This Privacy Policy explains how Assisting AI (“Assisting AI”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit this website. It covers this marketing website only. The Assisting AI app at app.assisting-ai.com — including accounts, payments and the desktop application — is covered by the privacy notice shown in the app.
Who is responsible for your data
Assisting AI is the Data Fiduciary under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the data controller under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at support@assisting-ai.com.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why we use it | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, topic and message you send through the contact form | To reply to your enquiry and give you support | Data you voluntarily provide for this purpose (DPDP Act s.7(a)); taking steps at your request / our legitimate interest in answering you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)) |
| The page you sent the form from | To understand the context of your question | As above |
| Your cookie choices, a random consent ID, the date and the policy version | To remember and be able to prove your cookie choices | Compliance with law (DPDP Act s.7; GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Technical data such as IP address and browser type, handled by our server | To deliver the site securely and prevent abuse. Your IP address is used momentarily to limit spam and is stored only as a one-way, truncated hash | Legitimate use for security (DPDP Act s.7); legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Analytics and marketing cookies — only if you opt in | To measure how the site is used and improve our advertising | Your consent (DPDP Act s.6; GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy rules) |
We don’t ask for sensitive information and we don’t use your data for automated decisions that significantly affect you.
Children
This website is intended for adults. Under the DPDP Act a child is anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly process children’s personal data or track or target advertising at children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf. If we learn that we have collected a child’s data without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are essential for the site to work unless you choose otherwise. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie we use. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings, also available in the footer of every page.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising unless you turn on marketing cookies. We use a small number of service providers (Data Processors) who process data only on our instructions and under contract:
- our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its data;
- our email providers, so we can receive and answer your messages — including Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which delivers notification emails from this website;
- analytics or advertising providers listed in the Cookie Policy — only if you give consent.
We may also disclose personal data where required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside India or outside your country. Where we transfer personal data, we do so in line with applicable law, including any restrictions notified by the Government of India under the DPDP Act and, for data from the EEA or UK, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
- Contact enquiries: as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, and deleted automatically after 24 months at the latest.
- Consent records: up to 24 months, so we can show what you chose.
- Backups: the website database, which includes enquiries, is backed up daily and each backup is deleted after 7 days.
- Server security logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security purposes.
We delete personal data sooner if you ask us to and we have no legal reason to keep it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- Correct, complete or update data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Erase your data when it is no longer needed or when you withdraw consent;
- Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it — this does not affect processing already carried out;
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to (India);
- Object to or restrict processing, and receive your data in a portable format (EU and UK);
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (California and other US states) — we don’t sell data, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out of marketing cookies;
- exercise these rights without being treated differently.
To use any of these rights, email support@assisting-ai.com from the address you used with us. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will respond as quickly as we can, and always within the time limits set by applicable law.
Grievance redressal
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, write to our grievance contact at support@assisting-ai.com with the subject “Privacy grievance”. We will acknowledge your complaint and resolve it within the period prescribed under the DPDP Rules. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
How we protect your data
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), restrict access to submitted messages to administrators, protect our forms against spam and abuse, send security headers and keep our software up to date. No system is completely secure, but if a personal data breach occurs we will notify affected people and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
Changes to this privacy policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change affects how we use cookies, we will ask for your choice again.
Country detection
To show prices in your currency and the cookie banner in your language, our own server looks up which country your IP address belongs to. The lookup happens in memory on our server: your IP address is not stored, logged or sent to anyone else for this purpose.
